What we install
Accessory work carried out at your vehicle, wired properly and tested before we leave.
Dash cam installation
Front-only or front and rear, wired in and hidden rather than left hanging from the windscreen.
- Front dash cam installation
- Front and rear dash cam installation
- Concealed cable routing
- Hardwire kits where compatible
- Parking-mode wiring where supported
- Customer-supplied dash cams
- Removing or replacing an older aftermarket unit
Parking mode and hardwiring depend on both the camera and the vehicle. Not every combination supports it, so we confirm before quoting.
Head units, CarPlay & Android Auto
Aftermarket screens fitted so they look and behave like they belong in the car.
- Aftermarket head unit installation
- Apple CarPlay
- Android Auto
- Fascia and fitting kits
- Wiring harnesses
- CANBUS interfaces where required
- Steering-wheel controls where compatible
- Reverse-camera integration where compatible
Head units are rarely plug-and-play. Depending on the vehicle the job may need a fascia kit, harness, CANBUS adaptor, antenna adaptor or configuration afterwards.
Reverse camera installation
Cameras wired to a suitable display, with the trigger and power taken from the right place.
- Aftermarket reverse cameras
- Camera cable routing and wiring
- Display and head-unit integration
- Correct reverse-trigger and power wiring
- Replacing a faulty aftermarket camera
Integration with a factory screen is not possible on every vehicle. We check what your car supports before recommending an approach.
Trailer plugs & trailer wiring
Towing electrics wired so the trailer lights work every time you hook up.
- Trailer plug installation
- Trailer socket installation
- Towing electrical wiring
- Trailer lighting faults
- Diagnosing existing trailer wiring
Many modern vehicles need a proper wiring interface rather than splicing into the factory loom. We use an approach suited to your vehicle.
UHF & 12V accessories
Powered from a sensible source, fused correctly and switched the way you want it.
- UHF radio installation and antenna wiring
- USB outlets and 12V sockets
- Switches and switch panels
- Auxiliary and driving-light wiring
- General accessory wiring
- Anderson plug installation where appropriate
Dual battery & inverter installation
Auxiliary power for touring, camping and work vehicles — charged properly and protected properly.
- Dual battery and auxiliary battery systems
- Lithium auxiliary battery setups
- DC-DC charger installation
- Battery isolators and control-box integration
- Inverter installation and 12V supply integration
- 12V power distribution and fused accessory circuits
- Anderson plugs, auxiliary sockets and USB outlets
- Battery monitoring where the system supports it
- Touring, camper and caravan 12V accessory power
No two setups are the same. What suits your vehicle depends on the points below, so we work it out with you rather than fitting a fixed package.
Accessory electrical faults
Something already fitted that has stopped behaving? Diagnosing electrical faults is our core work.
- Accessory has stopped working
- Intermittent power or dropouts
- Blown fuses
- Tidying up a poor previous installation
- Wiring faults, bad earths and poor connections
- Battery drain caused by an accessory
Fault-finding work is quoted separately from installation. See our car electrical diagnostics page.
Dual battery and inverter setups vary a lot. What your vehicle needs depends on the vehicle itself, the battery chemistry and capacity, how you want it charged, whether a DC-DC charger is required, the inverter size, cable runs, the current your accessories actually draw, and the circuit protection that suits all of it.
Because of that we don't quote a dual battery or inverter system without knowing the vehicle and the equipment, and we don't confirm compatibility until we've seen those details. Tell us what you have or what you're planning and we'll work out what fits.
A note on 240V. Our work is automotive and 12V — the vehicle, the auxiliary battery system, the charging side and the 12V supply to an inverter. Fixed 240V mains wiring inside a caravan or camper is regulated electrical work and sits outside that scope.
What a proper installation looks like
The difference between an accessory that works for years and one that causes problems is almost always in the wiring you can't see.
Tidy, concealed cable routing
Cables run behind trim and along existing paths, so there's as little visible wiring as possible.
Secure mounting
Equipment mounted so it stays put, doesn't rattle and doesn't obstruct your view or the controls.
Correct power source
Ignition-switched or permanent supply, whichever the accessory actually needs, taken from a suitable point.
Suitable fuse protection
Every added circuit protected appropriately for its load, rather than hung off whatever was nearest.
Airbags and safety systems respected
Trim removal and cable routing done with awareness of airbags, sensors and other vehicle safety systems.
Modern vehicle networks considered
Later vehicles run more on data than on plain switched wiring. Where an accessory touches a CANBUS or module-controlled circuit, it is wired with that in mind rather than spliced in blind.
Factory wiring protected
We avoid unnecessary modification to the factory loom, and everything is tested before we leave.
Why we quote per vehicle
Two identical dash cams can be very different jobs in two different cars.
Installation pricing depends on
- Vehicle make, model and year
- The accessory type, brand and model
- Front-only or front-and-rear setup
- The wiring or hardwire kit required
- CANBUS integration, fascia kits, harnesses or adaptors
- Compatibility with the vehicle's factory system
- Whether parking mode is needed and supported
- Any previous aftermarket wiring that needs sorting out
Installation pricing depends on the vehicle, accessory and the wiring or integration required. Send us your vehicle details and the accessory you want fitted for a quote.
To quote accurately we need your make, model and year, the accessory you want fitted and its brand and model, and whether you already own the equipment. Photos of the dash or any existing wiring help if something has been installed before.

Frequently asked questions
Can you install a dash cam I already bought?
Yes. We regularly install customer-supplied dash cams. Let us know the brand and model when you request a quote, because the wiring kit and what the camera supports affect the job.
Can you install front and rear dash cams?
Yes. Front-only and front-and-rear setups are both common. A rear camera adds a cable run through the vehicle, so it takes longer than a front-only install.
Can you hardwire a dash cam for parking mode?
Often, but not always. Parking mode depends on the camera supporting it and on a suitable hardwire kit being available for your vehicle. Tell us the camera model and vehicle and we will confirm before quoting.
Can you install Apple CarPlay or Android Auto?
Yes, usually by fitting an aftermarket head unit that supports them. Whether a factory screen can be upgraded instead depends entirely on the vehicle, so we check your make, model and year first.
Can you install a head unit I already purchased?
Yes. Depending on the vehicle the installation may also need a fascia kit, a wiring harness, a CANBUS interface or an antenna adaptor. We confirm what is required and include it in the quote.
Can you install a reverse camera?
Yes. We install aftermarket reverse cameras and wire them to a compatible display or head unit. Integration with a factory screen is not possible on every vehicle, so we check compatibility first.
Can you install trailer plugs and trailer wiring?
Yes. We install trailer plugs and sockets, wire towing electrics, and diagnose faults in existing trailer wiring and trailer lighting. Many modern vehicles need a proper wiring interface rather than splicing into the factory loom.
Do you install UHF radios and 12V accessories?
Yes. UHF radios, USB outlets, 12V sockets, switches, auxiliary lighting, accessory wiring and Anderson plugs are all work we do.
Do you install dual battery systems?
Yes. We install dual battery and auxiliary battery systems, including lithium setups, with the isolation, charging and circuit protection to suit the vehicle. What the system needs depends on your vehicle and what you want to run, so we work that out before quoting.
Can you install a DC-DC charger?
Yes. A DC-DC charger is the usual way to charge an auxiliary battery properly from a modern vehicle's charging system, and it is often required for lithium batteries. We size and install it to suit the vehicle and the battery.
Can you install an inverter?
Yes, on the automotive side. We install the 12V supply, cabling and circuit protection an inverter needs and integrate it into the vehicle's power system. Fixed 240V mains wiring inside a caravan or camper is regulated electrical work and sits outside what we do.
Can you install an Anderson plug?
Yes. Anderson plugs are common for trailer and caravan charging, portable solar and auxiliary power. We install them with cable and fusing appropriate to the current they will carry.
Is the service mobile?
Yes. We come to your vehicle across Geelong and surrounding areas, including Armstrong Creek, Waurn Ponds, Torquay and Ocean Grove.
What information do you need to provide a quote?
Your vehicle make, model and year, the accessory you want fitted, the accessory brand and model, and whether you already own the equipment. Photos of the dash or the existing wiring help if anything has been installed before.
